Assigning and managing cases

Updated May 2026

Once adment detects a violation, the next step is to assign it to the right person and track it through to resolution. This article explains how to manage cases in the Ad Hijackers tab.

Changing the status of a case

Every case has a status that reflects where it is in your review process. To change the status, open a case by clicking on it in the main table, then click the Status field to open the dropdown. The available options are:

  • New : the default status for all freshly detected violations. Anything in New has not been reviewed yet.
  • In Progress : use this when someone is actively investigating or taking action on the case. Moving a case to In Progress signals to the rest of the team that it is being handled.
  • Solved : use this when the violation has been resolved, whether the affiliate was removed, the network was notified, or the activity has stopped.

Status updates are manual. There is no automated workflow that moves cases between stages. It is up to your team to keep statuses current as you work through violations.

Assigning a case to a team member

If you have multiple people managing your affiliate program, you can assign individual cases to specific team members to make it clear who is responsible for each one.

To assign a case, open it and click the Assigned to field. A dropdown will appear showing all active team members on your account. Select the person you want to assign the case to.

When you assign a case, the assigned team member is notified, so they know it is waiting for them without you having to chase it up separately. The assignment also shows up in the Assigned to column of the main table, making it easy to filter by owner and see who has what on their plate.

Muting an advertiser

If you want to stop a specific advertiser from appearing in your New queue, you can mute them using the Mute activity toggle inside the case panel.

When mute is turned on, future detections from that advertiser are hidden from the New tab. They are not deleted and monitoring does not stop. adment continues to detect activity, but it will not surface as a new item requiring your attention. Use this for advertisers you have already reviewed and decided not to act on, or for known activity you are monitoring passively without taking immediate action.

To unmute an advertiser, open their case and toggle Mute activity off.

Notifications

adment notifies team members when a case is assigned to them, so ownership is clear as soon as you hand a case over. Notifications follow the email address on each team member's account, which you can review under Settings, then Team.

Adding notes

Inside each case there is a Note field where you can add free text for internal reference. Use this to log what action was taken, when you contacted the affiliate, what response you received, or any other context that helps your team track the history of the case.

Bulk case management

Cases are updated one at a time. There is currently no way to select multiple advertisers and change their status or assignment in bulk. If you are working through a large number of new detections, the most efficient approach is to filter by status, work through the list in order, and update each case as you go.
